Entry requirements 

These are minimum general requirements only. Please refer to the relevant programme pages for essential subject requirements and grade ranges. Advanced entry is only possible where qualification aligns with the course.


Qualifications and grades required:

  • Alberta - minimum 68% in 5 subjects at Grade 12
  • British Columbia - a minimum of 70% in 5 subjects
  • Manitoba - 5 credits at 300 level with a minimum of 68% in each subject
  • New Brunswick - a minimum of 68% in 5 subjects at Grade 12
  • Newfoundland - 5 credits at 3,000 level in Grade 12 with a minimum of 68% in each subject
  • Northwest Territories - a minimum of 68% in 5 subjects at Grade 12
  • Nova Scotia - a minimum of 68% in 5 subjects at Grade 12
  • Ontario - a minimum of 75% in 6 subjects at U or M level
  • Prince Edward Island - a minimum of 68% in 5 subjects at Grade 12
  • Quebec - a minimum of 65% in Diplomes d'etudes Collegiates
  • Saskatchewan - a minimum of 68% in 5 subjects at Grade 12
  • Yukon - AAABB to BBBBB at Grade 12


Qualifications and grades required:

  • Good Bachelor's Honours degree with a GPA of 2.7/4.0*


*Minimum GPA of 3.0 required for MSc Physiotherapy (Pre-registration) and MSc Occupational Therapy (Pre-registration) programmes.

English language requirements

Canadian nationals or individuals who have undertaken degree level study in Canada may be exempt from further English language requirements

Further details of Accepted English language qualifications are available for students who would not be exempt from further English language requirements. Students who wish to join a programme with a higher English language requirement must provide a SELT result/certificate as evidence of English.

Alumni ambassadors

GCU has alumni ambassadors around the world who kindly volunteer to provide current or prospective students with practical advice on what to expect when they arrive at GCU and how to make the most of their time at university.  

Furthermore, the ambassadors are a point of contact for GCU alumni based overseas and can offer useful tips on settling into a new country or setting up an event or networking opportunity.
