GCU’s School of the Built and Natural Environment has been ranked number one in Scotland, in the Building category, in The Times Online Good University Guide.

The university came eighth in the UK in the poll, which examined research quality, entry standards, student views and graduate prospectus.

Times Online ranked GCU higher than Heriot-Watt, Edinburgh Napier, Robert Gordon, Liverpool John Moores and Central Lancashire in the 2010 survey.

Peter Kennedy, Dean of the School of the Built and Natural Environment, said: “This is an excellent result for both the University as a whole and the School.

“It not only sends a positive message to our current students but also recognises the continued hard work and commitment of our staff.”
