Professor Gillies attends Going Global conference

Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor Pamela Gillies CBE delivered an address at the Going Global conference in Miami.

Going Global, an annual conference hosted by the British Council, offered an open forum for leaders of international education to debate issues facing higher and further education institutions.

More than 1000 delegates attended the event, which provided a global network for thought leaders, policy makers and practitioners in the field of international education.

The themes at this year’s Going Global were innovation, impact and inclusion. One of the key sessions focused on social enterprise and innovation, during which Professor Gillies spoke of GCU’s mission to work for the common good, promote responsible business and stimulate social innovation.

Professor Gillies, who sits on the British Council Board of Trustees, explained how GCU successfully produced global graduates and citizens by embedding the United Nations Principles of Responsible Management Education into its curricula, and is successfully collaborating with industry partners.
