A new principal for GCCN

Professor Crossan takes over this week

GCU’s Professor Frank Crossan takes over as Principal of Grameen Caledonian College of Nursing this week.

Professor Crossan succeeds GCCN’s founding Principal, Professor Barbara Parfitt in the role.

Professor Crossan has extensive international experience gained on projects in areas such as Kosovo, China and South America and was instrumental in the foundation of the College. He travelled to Bangladesh in 2009 to conduct a feasibility study on how GCU and Grameen could work together to address the country's desperate health care inequalities.

He has continued to work closely with GCCN and has also played a key role, with GCU’s partners, in a network of World Health Organisation Collaborating Centres.

Professor Crossan, who has worked at GCU for 14 years, said: "I am really excited to be taking up this new role and immersing myself in another culture. I thrive on change and on changing things.”

Professor Parfitt is back in the UK to collate her research findings.
