University managers study best in student services at GCU

The delegates visit GCU

Senior managers from universities across Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon and Egypt have visited GCU to study best practice in student services.

The delegates are on an EU Tempus-funded fact-finding tour, which will also see them visit universities in Spain and Ireland, to study the best in student services and how it can be implemented at their home universities.

They heard from Jackie Main, Director of Student Experience, Governance and Quality, and staff from International Student Support Services and the International Office.

Mark Anderson, GCU’s Head of EU Programmes, organised the visit. He said: “This was a great opportunity for senior managers from universities across Jordan, Palestine, Lebanon and Egypt to see some of the innovative services we offer our students and also for us to widen further our international horizons and explore opportunities for exchange and recruitment.”

Dr Walid Salemeh, Dean of Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Princess Sumaya University for Technology in Amman, Jordan, said: “We are impressed by GCU’s long history of excellence in student services and will try to implement many of the systems and projects we have seen here at our own institutions.”
