Students on their marks for the Caley-Olympics

Arc will host the inaugural Caley-Olympics

GCU is hosting its first ever Caley-Olympics featuring a wide variety of sports, from volleyball and basketball to table tennis and badminton.

Students can participate in the event as a team, or come along individually and be teamed up with fellow students. More than £500 worth of prizes, including free monthly gym passes, tickets to sports matches and vouchers, will be up for grabs.

Event organiser Jas Sangha, who is Vice President Support and Advice, said: “We’re thrilled to be holding the first ever Caley-Olympics. Sport is an important part of GCU life, with many students performing at professional level. The Caley-Olympics will give everyone the chance to come along, have fun competing in a friendly event and get some exercise.

"The GCUSA Culture Committee has worked hard in bringing this event together, and we hope that its integrative nature will appeal to the student community.”

The Caley-Olympics will take place in the Arc Health and Fitness Centre, from 1pm-5pm today, January 26. For more information, contact Jas Sangha on 0141 331 1612.
