Author and CEO of GirlQuake to deliver masterclass at GCU

Ms Restauri will discuss the findings from her book ‘Their Roaring Thirties: Brutally Honest Career Talk From Women Who Beat The Youth Trap’

“I will tell stories about perseverance, fearlessness and success – from how to become president of a $1 billion company by age 32 or help start a revolution in Afghanistan at 30.”

These are the words of Denise Restauri, author and CEO of GirlQuake, who will present a masterclass at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) on Tuesday, March 31.

Entitled ‘In Business, it's Personal: Brutally Honest Tales of Successful Women’, the masterclass will reveal stories from female professionals, providing a perspective on the challenges they face, along with their advice on how to succeed professionally and personally.

Ms Restauri will discuss the findings from her Forbes book ‘Their Roaring Thirties: Brutally Honest Career Talk From Women Who Beat The Youth Trap’, for which she interviewed and examined the lives of over 100 women in their 30s.

Ms Restauri said: “I am thrilled to present a masterclass at GCU, one of the world’s most innovative universities.

“People ask me, ‘What are the top 10 things you have learned about women in their 30s?’ and I will answer that question for the first time during my masterclass. Although these stories are about women, it will be eye opening for women and men of all ages. I will offer powerful pieces of advice that will give Millennials tips on what’s to come, help thirty-somethings to navigate through this decade, and show Baby Boomers what drives the women building tomorrow’s great companies.”

Ms Restauri was the executive producer of the inaugural Forbes Women's Summit, which took place in New York City in 2013, and serves on the boards of a number of influential female-led organisations. Throughout her career, she has been committed to amplifying the voices of girls and women by giving them platforms to share their stories, define the notion of power and create a global force for positive change.

The masterclass will take place from 5.30pm in the Deeprose Lecture Theatre.
