Combining traditional and digital marketing, this programme will provide you with the knowledge and expertise required for a successful career locally or internationally. Adding to your existing knowledge of marketing and business, you will gain a sound understanding of specific aspects of marketing, leading to a wide range of career options.

Marketing involves almost every aspect of an organisation, from advertising, sales, market research and new product development to the creation, promotion and protection of a company brand. Through understanding customers and their needs and desires a company can make itself, its goods or its services irresistible to consumers.

Our excellent industry links provide you with opportunities to engage in real life projects and case studies, putting into practice the theory learned throughout the programme. You’ll explore contemporary marketing challenges and study marketing disciplines including consumer behaviour, marketing communications, brand management and market research methods, alongside business modules and optional modules from a wide range of subject areas.

You may also be able to take up a funded international exchange placement to study part of your degree at a partner university.

Your career

Graduates enjoy excellent career prospects both at home and abroad in corporate organisations, small businesses and in the public and third sector, in a variety of marketing roles. Those with a particular interest or creative flair can find work in more niche areas such as advertising and public relations.

Modern Apprenticeships

If you have completed a Modern Apprenticeship at SCQF level 6 in a relevant discipline this would be equivalent to two highers at B.

Relevant experience (RPL)

GCU’s flexible entry policies exist to allow relevant work experience and prior learning to be considered towards standard entry or advanced entry into a course. If you have three to five years of relevant work experience, you can apply for the degree that interests you and get in touch with our admissions team about your application and your eligibility for Recognition of Prior Learning.

International Pathways

If you do not meet the English language requirements, you may be eligible for our pre-sessional English programme which is taught at our Glasgow campus.
