GCU Students – Short-term opportunities

‌Short-term Opportunities

If you are unable to commit to a long-term exchange, or if you’d like to sample what it’s like to study abroad before committing to an exchange, we have lots of exciting short-term opportunities for you.

Our short-term programmes vary year on year but in the past we have offered students the chance to go to Ho Chi Minh City (Fashion), Helsinki (ICT), Lahti (multi-disciplinary), and Hong Kong (Biomedical Science). To keep up-to-date with short-term exchange opportunities, please follow our Facebook page. There are also many short-term exchanges organised by each school. Staff will contact you directly about these opportunities so make sure you read your emails! Please note that short-term opportunities are not credit bearing.

South Korea Summer School

When: July/August for 2 or 4 weeks

Who: Students from any year and any discipline can apply

Application: Applications will be open from 1st-15th March. The application form will be pusblished here on 1st March.

Each year we have a handful of places on 2 summer school programmes delivered by our partners Hansung University and SeoulTech University. Both universities are located in South Korea's incredible capital city, Seoul. These summer schools give students the chance to learn about, or build on their existing knowledge, of South Korea’s language and culture while making friends and developing a range of transferable skills that are appealing to future employers. Successful applicants do not have to pay for tuition, cultural activities, accommodation, excursions, or even meals within the dates of the programme. These costs are waived under GCU’s exchange agreements with the institutions. Participants will need to fund travel to and from South Korea, meals outside of the programme’s duration, as well as additional spending money. Successful applicants will, however, be strongly encouraged to apply for one of the various scholarships available to help with these costs. Please note that we will prioritise students from disadvantaged backgrounds for the South Korea Summer School programme however we encourage anyone who is interested to apply. ‌
