Alice Brooke, Disability Assistant

Alice is one of our Disability Assistants, providing one-to-one support for students. Alice also provides guidance and training to GCU staff on inclusive teaching practice and disability awareness. Alice works with us on a part-time basis: Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during term-time.

Louise Ferguson, Administrative Assistant

Louise provides administrative support and a friendly front-line reception service to the Disability Service. Louise can arrange and reschedule appointments with any of the Advisers, and offer advice on many procedural issues relating to the services offered by the Disability Service.

Danny Gallacher, Disability Adviser

Danny is one of our team of Disability Advisers, providing advice, information and facilitating access to services and facilities for disabled students and applicants. In addition to this, Danny coordinates the Summer Transition Programme and Mentoring Support for students on the autism spectrum. Danny works compressed hours and is available each week on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays.

Lee Gilson, Disability Assistant & Disability Mentor

Lee provides one-to-one support for students, and provides specialist mentoring support to students on the autism spectrum. Lee also delivers guidance and training to GCU staff on inclusive teaching practice and disability awareness. Lee works with us on a part-time basis: Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during term-time.

Debbie Kettle, Disability Support Officer

Debbie is our Disability Support Officer. Her responsibilities include the coordination of our Mentoring and Assistance Services, as well as providing assistance and specialist mentoring support to students. Debbie works with us on a part-time basis: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays each week.  

Kirsty MacFarlane, Disability Assistant & Disability Mentor

Kirsty provides one-to-one support to students and provides specialist mentoring support to students on the autism spectrum. Kirsty also delivers guidance and training to GCU staff on inclusive teaching practice and disability awareness. 

Mel McKenna, Disability Adviser and Disability Support Officer

Mel is one of our team of Disability Advisers, providing advice, information and facilitating access to services and facilities for disabled students and applicants.  Mel works with us as a Disability Adviser on a part-time basis: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays each week. Mel also works for us as our Disability Support Officer on Mondays and Tuesdays each week. Her responsibilities as Disability Support Officer include the coordination of our Mentoring and Assistance Services, as well as providing assistance and specialist mentoring support to students.

Margaret McShane, Disability Adviser

Margaret is one of our team of Disability Advisers, providing advice, information and facilitating access to services and facilities for disabled students and applicants. In addition to this, Margaret coordinates the pre-entry Study Skills Workshops for incoming disabled students. Margaret works compressed hours and is available each week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays.

Tom Welsh, Assistive Technology Adviser & Trainer

Tom provides advice and training in the use of assistive technology (software and hardware) to overcome disability related barriers to learning. He provides one-to-one training and group workshops, and works alongside the Disability Advisers to identify technological solutions to promote independent learning.

Catriona Mowat, Disability Manager

Catriona manages the Disability Service, provides support to the Advisers in complex cases, and is responsible for ensuring that the Service delivers on its commitment to improving the overall experience for disabled students, through the promotion of inclusive practice and independent learning opportunities.

Sarah Rose, Disability Assistant & Disability Mentor

Sarah provides one-to-one support to students and provides specialist mentoring support to students on the autism spectrum. Sarah also delivers guidance and training to GCU staff on inclusive teaching practice and disability awareness. Sarah works with us on a part-time basis: Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays during term-time.

Michelle Wilson, Disability Mentor

Michelle provides specialist mentoring support to students on the autism spectrum.
