Attendance and Cancellations

Please be aware demand for counselling is very high throughout the academic year and we have a waiting list in place from October onwards.

Because of this and as part of the assessment appointment, if you decide to come for counselling you will be asked to read through and sign a Counselling Service Contract of Engagement.  This agreement covers amongst other things, your attendance at counselling appointments and what happens if you miss or do not attend an appointment, without giving sufficient notice.

You will have the opportunity  to talk through this agreement with the counsellor before signing, and ask any questions you might have about this. You will also be given a copy of this agreement to take away with you.

Information regarding assessment and counselling appointments will be sent to your university email, please ensure you respond promptly to these emails to confirm that you will attend, or the appointment will be offered to the next person on the waiting list.

It is important you arrive on time for your appointment as your counsellor/therapist will be working to an appointment system; sessions that start late will still need to finish on time.
