International Student Barometer

The next ISB will open at GCU in November 2019.

What is the ISB?

The International Student Barometer (ISB) runs annually and is open to all international and EU (non-UK) students at GCU’s Glasgow campus.ISB logo

The survey covers all aspects of the student experience and is your opportunity to tell us about you what you liked about your time at the University, as well as things you feel could have been improved. It is run by the external research agency i-graduate.

The survey is straightforward and should take no more than 15 minutes to complete. You will be asked a number of questions on a range of topics, including application and arrival; learning and teaching; support services; and living in Glasgow.

How can I take part?

The survey is run by the International Graduate Insight Group (i-graduate) and is completed online.

If you are eligible to complete the survey, you will receive an email to your university email account with a link to the survey.

Why should I take part?

Participation in the ISB is optional, but by completing the survey you will play a part in enhancing the student experience for current and future students. Previous responses to the ISB have resulted in positive changes for GCU students, including:

  • The introduction of our Global Buddies programme
  • The introduction of our extended international induction programme, to capture any late arrivals
  • The introduction of an airport taxi pick up service for all international students
  • An enhanced welcome programme to ensure new students make friends and are fully orientated before starting their course
  • More on campus employment opportunities
  • A student events programme which promotes student integration

What happens with my feedback?

Your feedback will be passed on, anonymously, to the University to help us identify how we can continue to enhance the student experience at GCU.

Your privacy comes first

We take your information privacy very seriously. All responses to student surveys are strictly confidential and are anonymised for reporting purposes. Reports will be in aggregate format and no individual will be identifiable. All surveys follow strictly the University's Data Protection guidelines.
