What’s involved?

Crisis is a national charity with various volunteering roles available all year round and during Crisis at Christmas. They also have School Liaison Volunteer roles, which are great for future leaders who wish to develop public-speaking, communication and networking skills to raise awareness of Crisis. Students can join the volunteering teams during the Christmas period to work in day centres or residential centres. They can join as General Volunteers or join one of our Services, Activities and Entertainment or Logistics teams. Throughout the year, students can also join to work as retail assistants at one of the Crisis Cafes or shops. Students can also join the ‘Everybody In’ campaign on raising issues including benefits and employment, health and wellbeing, housing, law and rights, and rough sleeping. The aim is to change policy in Westminster, devolved administrations, city regions and local councils.

How will participating in this activity/opportunity allow students to make a positive difference to the communities that we serve?

Students will help fight homelessness in London, help abolish rough sleeping and help re-integrate homeless people back into working society.
