National Student Money Week

As part of our National Student Money Week 2019 we invited students to take part in our Shopping Basket Challenge.

Here is a list of prices comparing the same shopping: one shopping was all branded goods and the other was non-branded. You may be surprised at the saving you can make just by not always going for branded goods.

Money Saving Tree Tips

As part of National Student Money Week 2019, we asked GCU students to give us their best tips for saving money. Here's what they had to say...

  • Use a refillable water bottle
  • Don’t food shop on an empty stomach!
  • Bring a packed lunch.
  •  Don’t throw away leftovers, freeze them for another day.
  • Try shopping in charity shops.
  • Leave your purse/wallet at home and only take what you need for the day
  • Make a list when food shopping and stick to it!
  • Buy reduced food in the supermarket and freeze it for later.
  • Regularly check your bank account!
