On campus registration

Due to the current coronavirus pandemic, arrangements for on campus registration are still being finalised and will be confirmed as soon as possible.  Please check back as we will update this page with the latest information.  If you have any concerns, you can look at our coronavirus update pages or contact our registration team at registration@gcu.ac.uk.

The main purpose of on campus registration is for our new students to come along and complete the registration process.  This involves identifying yourself with an appropriate form of ID, collecting your student card, and if applicable having your SAAS or Student Loans Company letter scanned in order to release funding.

Please note: all students must complete online registration prior to on campus registration.

Acceptable Forms of ID

To collect your student card, you must produce one of the following forms of identification:

  • Passport
  • Driving license/provisional
  • Young Scot card
  • European national identity card
  • ARC registration card

If you do not have any of the above, email us for further guidance.

International Students - You must ensure you have all of the documentation below before we can issue your card and confirm your registration:

  • Valid passport
  • Valid VISA
  • Biometric residence permit (BRP)
SAAS/SLC Payments

If you have applied for SAAS/SLC funding you need to bring your payment schedule letter to registration for the team to scan. This will send a notification for your payments to be released. We can scan this from your smartphone if you do not have a hard copy of your letter.

If your letter does not have a barcode, check if it has a Student Support Number (SSN). If you don't have this information, contact your funding body before coming along to minimise any delay in you receiving your payment as we can't confirm your details without this.

Continuing students who have already had a letter scanned do not need to follow this process.

To speed up the registration process, make sure you submit a photograph in advance of collecting your card. However we understand that some students may have difficulty doing this beforehand.

If you have been unable to upload or send us a picture you can have your photograph taken at the Registration Helpdesk. After you have had your photograph taken you will be advised on when you will be able to collect your student card.
