The University is committed to the provision of a COVID-19 safe environment in our residential accommodation, Caledonian Court. The accommodation will be managed in line with Scottish Government guidance and full details and instructions will be relayed to all residents prior to and upon arrival. 

Students subject to quarantine restrictions will be allocated specific accommodation for that purpose, either individually, or with other students with a similar requirement arriving on the same date. This will provide peer support for health and wellbeing and reduce any risks associated with isolation. 

If you have symptoms or have tested positive for COVID-19, all other residents within your flat will be required to self-isolate as they are defined as a household.

Access to your flat is thereafter restricted and a separate fire evacuation process will be followed so the you assemble in an area separate from other residents.

Should you be required to self-isolate because you have suspected COVID-19 symptoms or have tested positive, you must inform the Campus Life Helpdesk by emailing or by phoning +44 141 331 3130 (Monday – Friday 9am-5pm), with your name, student ID,  the date of when you were last on campus and where on campus you were located, and Campus Security immediately, by phoning 0141 331 3958.

Student Services will then contact you to arrange health and wellbeing support including practical assistance through our peer support network.

We understand that these are exceptional times, if it your intention to terminate your lease, your condition of lease details your obligations under the contract. This is contingent on you returning your keys to allow us to process your request. We advise that no notice period payments will be deducted from your advance payment or rent agreement.

In light of the Scottish Government’s requirement for universities to stagger the return of students to University at the start of the year, it is the University’s intention, for Trimester B, to offer rebate on rent calculated on a case by case basis, dependant on your individual academic timetable and revisions to your travel plans. To ensure accuracy please advise of arrival date. We will work with the Finance team during February to review and confirm all rebates.
