Setting up eduroam

Installation for your device must be carried out when on Campus. Please follow these steps:

  1. Search for wifi and connect to the Wireless network eduroam.
  2. A login box requesting a username and password will appear.
  3. Enter your domain username followed by@gcu.ac.uk - e.g abc21@gcu.ac.uk, and enter your domain password.
  4. On first connection a certificate authorisation page will appear - Click Connect. The setup is now complete and you should be connected to eduroam network.

If the above method does not work, please follow these steps:

  1. When on GCU campus, search for and connect to the Wireless network called gcu-wifi-setup.
  2. Open a web browser and the following web page with connection instructions will open up: http://www.gcu.ac.uk/staff/it/wirelessaccess/gcu-setup-wifi
  3. Click on the link, select ‘download your eduroam installer’ then select Glasgow Caledonian University. The site will detect your operating system and automatically download the appropriate installer.
  4. Run the eduroam Auto Installer.
  5. Enter your username in the following format: username@gcu.ac.uk and your current domain password.
  6. Press Start Setup. Once setup completes, press Exit.

OR

From off-campus, go to: https://cat.eduroam.org/

  1. Select ‘download your eduroam installer’ then select Glasgow Caledonian University. The site will detect your operating system and automatically download the appropriate installer. If you require an installer for another system click on the All platforms link.
  2. Run the eduroam Auto Installer.
  3. Enter your username in the following format: username@gcu.ac.uk and your current domain password
  4. Press Start Setup. Once setup completes, press Exit.
  5. You will need to be on campus in order to check that the installation was successful and you can connect to eduroam.
