Santander UniversitiesGCU are proud to be a member of the prestigious international Santander Universities network, which brings together almost 1,000 universities, throughout Spain, Portugal, Latin America and the UK.

This strategic partnership between the University and Santander has created a range of opportunities for both staff and students to participate in a range of activities and to encourage exchange and interaction between members of GCU and other member universities of the Santander Universities network.

Santander Scholarships and Mobility Awards

Funding is available each year to support a number of undergraduate and postgraduate scholarships. You must hold an offer of a place to study before submitting your scholarship application. Santander Universities Scholarships are open to applicants from the network countries.

A number of Mobility Awards are also vailable for staff and students to visit universities within the Santander Universities network.

Santander Entrepreneurial Support and Awards

The Santander Universities Entrepreneurship Awards offer a fantastic chance to celebrate the success of student and graduate entrepreneurs.

Not only will winners receive cash investment to aid their ideas and business, they’ll also receive valuable press coverage through the recognition received by this initiative.

These awards are run by the Santander Universities Division, with GCU having been a member since 2009. Both students and staff continue to benefit from scholarships, exchange trips and a dedicated campus branch for the GCU community.

Each University is being asked to submit one undergraduate and one postgraduate business plan.

Students (or alumni who have graduated within the last two years) are required to submit their executive summary and business plan by Monday 9th March. Principal and Vice-Chancellor Professor Pamela Gillies will then choose one undergraduate and one postgraduate business plan to represent GCU.

Santander Magnusson Award

Each year Santander sponsors one of the University's annual Magnusson Awards, which provide a one off grant of up to £5,000. The Award is intended to support students and researchers in the early years of their career who wish to pursue a project or idea that is additional to their academic work.

Santander Internships

Santander Internships have now opened for 2016/2017.

Santander Spanish Classes

Santander Universities and GCU are providing free Spanish classes to staff and students who do not have an option to include a foreign language as part of their degree programme. The programme aims to provide participants with effective transactional Spanish language skills and will be particularly beneficial to those taking part in an international exchange programme.

Classes for 2015 have now been sold out and new classes will start again in January 2016.
