RIE What We Do

 
The key functions of the Research, Innovation and Enterprise office are:

• Identifying sources of funding for research (research councils, charities, trusts, government, industry) and supporting research projects

• Advising academic staff in Glasgow Caledonian University's schools on how to apply for Research Projects through internal processes

• Provision of advice on University authorisation procedures for grant application and commercial contract approval

• Supporting Knowledge Transfer, regional and international networking

• Strategic business development activities

• Encouraging the commercial development of research ideas and supporting the generation of business plans

• Identification and protection of Intellectual Property and exploitation via patenting and licensing

• Creation of commercial vehicles such as start-up and spin-out companies

• Marketing support for academics who are able to promote their services to a business audience for commercial and research income
