GCU to host Student Physiotherapy Conference 2016

Student Physiotherapy Conference 2016

Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) will host the Student Physiotherapy Conference 2016 on Saturday, October 15.

The one-day conference will explore the theme ‘Empowering physical activities’ and will welcome physiotherapy students from across the country.

Keynote presentations will be delivered by Ann Gates, Founder and CEO of Exercise Works!, and Dr Sebastien Chastin, Reader in Behaviour Dynamics at GCU.

The aim of the conference is to show the diversity of physiotherapy and the range of opportunities available to students.

Dr Sebastien Chastin, who will speak about physical activities within a European context, said: “The annual conference is an opportunity for students and practitioners to come together to share ideas, findings and explore advancements in physiotherapy.”

Workshops throughout the day will include cardiac rehabilitation, kinesiology taping, Parkinson’s Disease and physical activity, foam rolling, shoulder pathologies and management, and ACL rehabilitation. 

Organised by physiotherapy students, the event is supported by CPS Scottish Boards and the Society of Musculoskeletal Medicine.
