Student makes energy-research final

Dr Keith Baker

Ron Mould, a PhD student with Dr Keith Baker and Professor Rohinton Emmanuel of the School of Engineering and Built Environment, has reached the final of the Heriot-Watt Scottish Energy News Researcher of the Year Awards 2015.

The awards will be announced at the Green Investment Bank, Edinburgh, on 14 May and presented by Fergus Ewing, Minister for Energy, Enterprise and Tourism.

This is a new award scheme aimed at celebrating and recognising achievement by research students in Scotland.

Ron’s PhD examines the relationship between district heating systems and fuel poverty.

Dr Keith Baker said: "This is welcome recognition of the work Ron has been doing on how to better address the problem of fuel poverty in rural Scotland.”

Ron said: “It's a privilege to be short-listed for this award.”
