Lauchlan, Dougie

Dougie graduated from Queen’s College, Glasgow in 1990 with a BSc Physiotherapy. In 2002 he graduated from Glasgow Caledonian University with a MSc Physiotherapy and has been teaching at GCU since 2005. He has worked in a variety of healthcare and sporting environments over a 25 year career.

Dougie gained much of his professional experience in the NHS in England & Scotland however went on to specialise in the rehabilitation of sports injury and reconstructive surgery through working in both the independent sector and in professional football. He currently holds a certificate in Advanced First Aid and Trauma Management and acted as a Lead Physiotherapist at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, 2014.

Dougie has gained a particular insight and interest in the developing athlete and the management of injury in the young elite sportsperson. His rehabilitation philosophy place the client’s needs at the core by creating a personal understanding and awareness of their own condition, in an attempt to achieve a return to function and sporting activity as a priority.
