12 September 2014

The worlds of business, arts and sports came together last night (September 11) at Glasgow’s Grand Central Hotel to celebrate the Inspiring City Awards 2014.

The awards, hosted by The Herald and Glasgow Chamber of Commerce, in association with People Make Glasgow, recognised the people and organisations that make the city great.

Glasgow School for Business and Society sponsored the award for Outstanding Contribution to Corporate Social Responsibility. It was won by Glasgow Taxis in recognition of the significant difference the organisation has made to the wellbeing of the community.

Professor John Lennon, acting Dean of Glasgow School for Business and Society, said: “As a university committed to common good, Glasgow Taxis reflected the core values and promotion of social responsibility, combined with responsible business management.

“Glasgow Taxis and all the shortlisted finalists should be proud of their achievements.”

More than 400 people attended the event, now in its second year.”
