Guest lecture on the future of the economy in the event of an independent Scotland

Crawford Beveridge CBE will deliver a guest lecture on the future of the economy in the event of an independent Scotland at Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) on Tuesday, August 19.

Mr Beveridge, who is Chair of the Fiscal Commission Working Group and Chair of the First Minister’s Council of Economic Advisers, will present the lecture entitled Economic foundations of an independent Scotland.

He will give an analysis of the Scottish economy and an assessment of the macroeconomic framework proposed for an independent nation.

The lecture is being hosted at the invitation of the Scottish Government’s Chief Economic Adviser, Dr Gary Gillespie, an Honorary Professor of GCU. 

It will take place on Tuesday, August 19 from 5.45pm to 8pm in the Deeprose Lecture Theatre (A005) in the Govan Mbeki building.
