School of Health and Life Sciences student Kirsten Nicolson is to spend the summer at GCU New York after earning a place on the Saltire Foundation’s Saltire Scholars internship programme.

Kirsten, who is studying Pharmacology and is an intern in GCU’s International Partnerships Office, is one of six GCU students – 132 across Scotland – who have secured world-class internships through the programme.

She is the first GCU student to visit the University’s Wooster Street campus.

Said Kirsten: “I am thrilled to have been offered such an exciting opportunity. I will be working as a research assistant exploring ethical fashion and potential partners. I love fashion and am fascinated by ethical businesses, which I hope to work in after graduation, so the internship will be an invaluable opportunity to explore those interests.”

Cara Smyth, Vice president of GCU New York, said; “GCU NY is delighted to be welcoming Saltire Scholar and GCU student, Kirsten Nicolson to Wooster Street this July for an internship.  The campus has many events and activities planned and a busy summer ahead.  We are looking forward to having Kirsten here, working alongside the NY team.”
