The GCU Fair Fashion Center will present a session on sustainability in the fashion industry at the 2017 Sustainable Brands Summit in Detroit this month.

In a moderated discussion entitled ‘Redesigning the Fashion Industry by Proving the Business Case for Sustainability’, on Wednesday May 24, GCU New York Vice President and Founding Director of the Fair Fashion Center Cara Smyth will demonstrate effective approaches to facilitating the incorporation of sustainable practices, proving the business case for sustainability, and turning global issues into industry opportunities.

The audience will hear an array of best practices, innovative thinking, first-hand experiences and expert testimony surrounding the power of sustainability to transform business. The discussion will review practical ways to move company initiatives beyond CSR, and empower organisations to embed sustainable business practices by providing solutions across business functions.

Sustainable Brands is the largest peer community of global business leaders committed to brand value creation through sustainability-led innovation. This year’s summit has the theme ‘Redefining the Good Life’, focusing on the emergence of today’s pressing social and environmental challenges in business.
