GCU will feature in film campaign

Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) is to feature in a series of British Council films promoting the country’s higher education sector to prospective students in China.

The films will feature in the Council’s GREAT Experience campaign, part of the UK government’s wider GREAT Campaign, and will share the stories of outstanding Chinese students and graduates of UK universities with Chinese students who hope to study in the UK.

GCU and the University of Glasgow are the only Scottish universities featured, alongside LSE, UCL, Imperial College, Cardiff University, and UAL.

A film crew followed Zhe Zhe – Eunice – Guan, from Beijing, who is studying an MSc International Business Management at GCU, and shot sequences in the Saltire Centre, Caledonian Court, the new Campus Life Lounge, and the restaurant.

Said Eunice: “I was very glad to participate in the British Council’s GREAT campaign, and to share my happy and dynamic experience of living on campus at GCU in the promotional film. Through presenting my wonderful university experience at GCU, I had a fantastic opportunity to promote Great Britain as a great place to study on an international scale. I was delighted to raise awareness of GCU and communicate what GCU has to offer to a global market, especially to prospective students from China.”

During filming, Campus Life Team Leader Claire Drummond led a discussion on life at GCU with Eunice and a group of international students.
