GCU students shortlisted for digital award

Students from Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) have been shortlisted as finalists for The Herald Scottish Digital Business Awards 2015.

The six students, which include Brian Mann, Jared Long, Patchaya Proud Khomna, Sara Lopez, Sara McCombe and Adrianne Calgie, are studying the Fashion, Marketing and Retailing module within Glasgow School for Business and Society.

Now in their seventh year, the awards recognise the opportunities offered by digital technology and the internet, bringing together businesses large and small.

The two teams from GCU, Eternal Eyes and Green ek-oh (Eco – friendly superstore, have been shortlisted within the Student Award category, sponsored by FanDuel.

Programme leader on the MSc in International Fashion Marketing Dr Antoinette Fionda-Douglas and lecturer Jamie Sterling led the students through the project. Dr Fionda-Douglas said: “We are delighted that Glasgow School for Business and Society students are shortlisted within the industry awards. It is recognition that the students’ work is of a high standard and our students are industry ready.”

The Herald Scottish Digital Business Awards will take place on Thursday, October 22 in the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Glasgow.
