The Learning Development Centre is available to all undergraduate, postgraduate and international students in the School of Health and Life Sciences.

The Centre provides face-to-face and online academic support through a combination of workshops, small group sessions, one-to-one appointments and tailored teaching within modules. The support available to students is provided in a professional and supportive environment enabling them to develop the skills required to succeed at university.

Each programme has an Academic Development Tutor who works closely with the teaching teams to ensure that all students are fully supported and appropriate additional sessions are provided as required. The Learning Development Centre also has an Academic Development Tutor who specialises in ICT Skills and Digital Literacies, providing support and training in different aspects of using ICT for study and work, ensuring students have access to and are gaining value from the most up-to-date learning technologies.

Workshops are delivered throughout the trimester, small group and one-to-one sessions can be arranged by appointment and regular weekly drop-in sessions are offered. Access to the Learning Development Centre is flexible to accommodate part-time students, distance learners and students out on placement so they can access face to face support and benefit from the services available.

For more information on workshop timetables and study materials please find our community in GCU Learn.
