Liz took up the role as Senior Careers Consultant at GCU London in September 2018. Formerly Director of Careers and Employability at Royal Holloway, Liz Wilkinson led a multidisciplinary team of 21 staff to empower 10,000 students to launch themselves into graduate careers. The quality of her professional work has been recognised by an AGR national award for Best Preparation for Work in Higher Education for their innovative micro-placement model in 2015 and two University Teaching Prizes for delivery of employability in the curriculum in 2012 and 2015. Liz has 29 years’ experience in employability, graduate recruitment and HE. She has worked in 6 universities including UCL, Kings and Queen Mary, and was a senior manager of The Careers Group, University of London. Liz has delivered consultancy to Cambridge University, EdHec Lille and BI Norway. As well as her role as AGCAS Board Director and Treasurer, Liz has recently been appointed to the Syndicate Board of the University of Cambridge Careers Service. Liz has a M.A Classics from Trinity College, Oxford, as well as a Dip C.G. HE from the University of Reading and a PG Cert in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education. Before joining HE, she worked in fashion retail as an Area Manager for C J Clark. Her current research interests focus round the future of work and digital employability.
