Open access publisher discounts

The library has arrangements with a number of publishers to help with open access article processing charges (APCs). GCU researchers can benefit from discounted APCs with the publishers listed below. More information is available in the individual sections. Please note that conditions apply. For any questions about these agreements, please email

Springer Open Choice

The agreement with Springer until 2021 allows free open access publishing of accepted articles in Springer Open Choice (hybrid) journals. Once a paper has been accepted for publication Springer will ask the corresponding author to confirm the institutional affiliation and complete the open access form.

Please note that BioMed Central and Springer Open (fully open access journals) are not included in this arrangement.

More information is available from the publishers’ website:

Corresponding authors should indicate they are entitled to the discount by adding a code to the University/Institutional Account Code field of the template (please contact for the current code).
