Springer Compact (UK)

The new agreement with Springer from January 2016 to the end of January 2019 allows free publishing of accepted articles under the Gold model in Springer Open Choice journals. Once your paper has been accepted for publication Springer will ask you to confirm your institutional affiliation and to complete an open access form. Springer will then contact us to confirm your affiliation.

Sage Choice and Premier

This agreement applies to articles at the point of acceptance for publication.

GCU Authors must indicate that they are entitled to the discounted rate of £200 by using a specific code when applying for the SAGE Choice option. If you do not know the code please email

The code must be entered in the University/Institution Account Code field of the SAGE Choice Invoice Template. This template should be returned to the relevant email address at SAGE as instructed on the form.

Please note that

  • the £200 fee will not cover costs for any other potential author fees levied by some journals (such as colour charges, which are additional) as well as taxes where applicable
  • this discount cannot be applied retrospectively to fees already paid

Taylor & Francis Scheme

GCU authors are entitled to a 75% discount for open access publishing in eligible Taylor & Francis Open Select journals until December 2018. To find out if a journal title is eligible for this discount please contact

When articles by GCU staff are accepted for publication in an eligible Open Select journal, authors will be contacted by the journal offering the open access publication route option, along with information on the discounted rate.
