Case studies

  • This is a detailed examination of a single case rather than quantifying and understanding relationships between variables during two or more collection points.
  • Cases can be individuals, businesses, organisations, events or geographical areas
  • It is often thought of as a qualitative design but can be used when looking to quantitatively describe what is going on.
  • It is useful when there is little known or understood about the topic
