My RI: Stakeholders
As we can see from this diagram, there are a number of key stakeholders involved in the REF process who conduct bibliometric analyses.
Government and funding agencies
Universities UK and Universities Scotland have produced a variety of reports on the future of research in the UK and its funding. Some examples are:
- Efficiency, effectiveness and value for money
- Quality, equity, sustainability: the future of higher education regulation
- Working Smarter 2014: A New Phase of University Efficiencies
- Higher education in Scotland: Our values & our value added
A requirement of this investment is the need to see a return on investment (ROI). Hence the rigorous evaluation process attached to funding awards. Funding agencies increasingly require detailed reporting on funded research which includes evidence of impact in terms of publication and dissemination of research results.
