The School of Health and Life Sciences delivers innovative and exciting academic programmes at undergraduate, postgraduate Masters and Doctorate level. Well-established links with the healthcare and life sciences sectors, together with current thinking and research shape the structure of our programmes, ensuring that students are well-equipped to meet the ever changing needs of employers and take advantage of a wide range of roles in the UK or internationally.
Students have access to state-of-the-art learning and research facilities designed for inter-professional education for modern healthcare teams. Our students benefit from a range of innovative teaching methods to assist and contextualize learning. The School’s blended learning approach uses GCU Learn (a virtual learning environment), practice-based learning, clinical work-based placements, clinical simulation suites, peer mentoring and additional support provided by the Schools’ Learning Development Centre. The majority of our programmes include placements for which our students are required to comply with a Code of Professional Conduct and Fitness to Practice Policy.
A number of our students also have the opportunity to undertake placements or exchange programmes abroad allowing them to experience other cultures and develop wider graduate attributes ensuring they maximise their full potential.
