Emma Stewart is a Researcher in the Department of Nursing and Community Health. She is working within the Safeguarding Health through Infection Prevention (SHIP) Research Group, with a primary focus upon the Scottish Healthcare Associated Infection Prevention Institute (SHAIPI) project.
Previously, she was Lecturer in Human Geography at the University of Strathclyde for 10 years. She is an experienced population geographer, who has worked on a number of different topics within the field of migration studies. This includes research to examine refugee mobility and integration, evaluating UK dispersal policy, and uncovering the problems facing refugee doctors. She has an extensive background in designing and managing research projects, securing external funding, and undertaking mixed methods (qualitative and quantitative) research.
She holds a MA (Hons) First Class in Geography and a PhD in Geography, both from the University of Dundee.
