Pamela Smith
Senior Lecturer in Dietetics
I am currently studying for a professional doctorate which is investigating students’ perceptions of communication and interpersonal skills required to be an effective practitioner.
I am an HCPC registered Dietitian and have worked in both the Acute and Community sectors. I have undertaken projects for private practices and businesses and enjoy new challenges.
I love anthropometry as a science and as a Level III ISAK anthropometrist and trainer, I am regularly involved in running Anthropometry courses in various parts of the UK.
I trained as an Accredited Sports Dietitian and have contacts within the Scottish Institute of Sport.
Whilst I head up the Undergraduate Dietetics Programme, I also teach on the Postgraduate Dietetics programme, the MSc Clinical Nutrition and Health programme, as well as numerous other programmes within the university.
I am a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, an HCPC registered dietitian and a member of the British Dietetic Association.
I consult and undertake practical workshops in Anthropometry, and in aspects of dietetics.
