Michael Follan

Michael completed his Mental Health Nursing training in 1990. He worked clinically in Child and Adolescent Mental Health services between 1991 and 2013 and managed and developed service across Inpatient and community clinical services and laterally worked in research and development in Children and Adolescents Mental Health. Michaels research interests are in the area of attachment disorder and the implications of early neglect on children and young people’s wellbeing. He has h published widely in this field and presented in this area nationally and internationally.

Michael started full time teaching in 2013 but had worked with GCU academic staff since 2005 on the delivery of a Child and Adolescent Mental Health education. Currently he is level 2 Coordinator for the BSc Nursing Studies programme (All Fields) and Module leader for both Mental Health modules in year 2.
