Elaine Cutajar

PhD student
Elaine works within the ‘Safeguarding Health through Infection Prevention’ (SHIP) Research team as a PhD student, focusing on public knowledge and health literacy, attitudes, views and behaviours around antibiotic use and resistance in self-limiting infections. Her interest in the field of antibiotic use began long before enrolling for her undergraduate degree, stemming from observations made on members of the Maltese public and the ways they perceived medicines and their administration or adherence. After obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology (with honours) in 2015 from the University of Malta, Elaine went on to obtain an MSc degree in Health Psychology from the University of Stirling in 2016, and is now in the process of completing her PhD.
