Chris McMahon

Lecturer in Occupational Therapy
My clinical background is primarily in adult community mental health working with people who experience severe and enduring conditions, such as Psychosis and Bi-Polar Disorder. I have worked with many students as a Field Work Educator and I participate in a Practice Educators Forum where clinicians and students discuss how to maximise the Field Education Experience.

I have recently started a secondment post for 18 months which is split between clinical and academic roles. This involves two days per week as an Occupational Therapist in a Community Mental Health Team and the other three days involve working at GCU as an Occupational Therapy lecturer.

I am extremely excited about this new and innovative post and I very much look forward to bringing a contemporary clinical context to aid the student learning experience.
