Chris Biggam joined GCU in 2017 to support the broad translational research programme undertaken by the Blood Borne Virus research team, working between GCU and NHS Public Health Scotland.

He provides project management and admin support across a number of research projects and working groups, including the national Needle Exchange Surveillance Initiative (funded by Public Health Scotland and the National Institute for Health Research) and EPIToPe, a five year project (funded by the National Institute for Health Research) to evaluate the impact of direct acting antiviral treatments as hepatitis C prevention for people who inject drugs.

Chris completed his undergraduate BA at the University of Stirling (2003) and holds a post-graduate MSc from the University of Strathclyde (2011). Prior to joining GCU, Chris spent 14 years working in the private sector in a variety of organisational development, operational improvement and project management roles. Chris is currently undertaking a Masters of Public Health here at GCU (expecting to complete in 2021/22).
