Alison Barclay

Alison graduated from Robert Gordon University in 1999 and moved to Liverpool where she worked before moving to Glasgow in 2008. Alison currently works as an Advanced Practitioner Physiotherapist in the Physically Disabled Rehabilitation Unit, which is the regional specialist neurorehabilitation centre in Greater Glasgow & Clyde. Within her role as an Advanced Practitioner, Alison is a Non-Medical Prescriber and Injector of agents to treat focal spasticity including botulinum toxin, local anaesthetics and phenol. She is in the 4th year of a part time PhD and is investigating the effect of cycling using lower limb active-passive trainers on spasticity, cardiovascular fitness, function and quality of life in people with Multiple Sclerosis. Alison is also a member of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy and Association of Chartered Physiotherapist in Neurology.
