ReaCH Crucible Programme for Early Career Researchers

  • Are you passionate about communicating your research and interested in learning how to engage with the media, the public, and policymakers?
  • Are you a post-doctoral early career researcher at GCU based in the School of Health and Life Sciences or at the Yunus Centre for Social Business and Health?

We have an exciting career development opportunity led by the Research Centre for Health (ReaCH). This three-day programme includes input from leading researchers within ReaCH and experts from GCU’s Media team, Research Impact and Community and Public Engagement and culminates in a meeting with policymakers at the Scottish Parliament. Previous participants rated the programme extremely highly.

Visit to the Scottish Parliament

For the final session of Crucible 2023, our cohort visited the Scottish Parliament. They were treated to a guided tour, sat in on First Minister's Questions, and had the chance to speak to MSPs from different parties about turning research into policy.
