Professor Paul has a wide portfolio of research activity across a number of clinical conditions including Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Diabetes, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Axial Spondyloarthritis. She is particularly interested in the role of exercise and physical activity in managing symptoms, modifying the disease process and in improving general health and wellbeing. Technology supported rehabilitation and self-management is a key area of research and expertise. This programme of work includes development, evaluation and deployment of health related apps, and websites. Of note Professor Paul and her team have developed a platform for the remote delivery and monitoring of physiotherapy programmes (www.webbasedphysio.com). She has a wide multi-professional network of collaborators within the UK and also overseas, in particular New Zealand and Canada.
