Dr Yvonne Brogan

Yvonne is a lecturer in Clinical Nutrition and Health in the department of Occupational Therapy and Human Nutrition and Dietetics. She has a science background with postgraduate qualifications in Human Nutrition. Yvonne graduated with a PhD in Nutrition from University College Cork. The title of her thesis was Micronutrient Status and LDL Oxidation. Yvonne’s first academic post was as a lecturer in Nutrition at Manchester Metropolitan University, where she taught on a Food and Nutrition undergraduate degree. On moving to Glasgow in 2005, Yvonne worked as a part-time lecturer at GCU. She also held a post as a research assistant in the Department of Nutrition at the University of Glasgow.

Between 2007-2009, Yvonne worked as a researcher at GCU on a Food Standards Agency funded project, investigating dietary patterns in the Scottish Diet.
In 2010 Yvonne became a permanent part-time member of the teaching staff at GCU. She has a wide range of teaching experience at both undergraduate and post-graduate level. She is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. Yvonne’s interests lie in Nutrition Through the Lifecycle and Public Health Nutrition. She is enthusiastic about the use of Secondary datasets as a means of completing projects at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and has many years of experience of this.
