Irene Mains
Lecturer in Human Resources Management
Prior to entering academia, Irene was an Organisational Development Consultant for over 10 years, working within a variety of sectors and industries, where she carried out applied research and consultancy on a range of strategic, change, organisational behaviour and leadership/management related issues. She ran her own consultancy business from 2003 – 2006, specialising mainly in facilitating learning for Leadership Development. Irene still undertakes consultancy on behalf of the university, working mainly with public sector organisations delivering development interventions for Senior Managers.
Irene is currently undertaking her PHD research, looking at Leadership in Public Sectors; and is also undertaking research related to a Cross Organisational Mentoring initiative for managers, across 3 local partner organisations, which she has led since 2011.
