Dr Lombard previous research investigated what young people aged eleven and twelve thought about men’s violence against women. She is currently working with children aged 5, 7 and 9 looking at how they understand gender. She is also involved in research with colleagues looking at football and domestic abuse.
Her research provides an original and important contribution to the understandings of a global issue. In 2014, Dr Lombard was successful in obtaining a Beltane Honorary Fellowship. She developed a citywide gender awareness training programme for primary schools.
