Julie is currently an Open Innovation and Co-Creation Advisor for the Cultural Enterprise Office in Glasgow as part of an Open Innovation Project funded through the INTERREG IVB North-West Europe Programme. Recently, Julie undertook a scoping study for Scottish Enterprise on the current demand for Clinical Research Nurses in Scotland. She is currently pursuing further research on Open Innovation which builds on her work bridging the gap between theory and practice and turning Open Innovation theories into practical ways to engage. Julie is also interested in Social Innovation and is currently working on two funded projects with Dr Geoff Whittam on community-led partnerships using an asset management approach.
Julie has taught on a wide range of courses within the business management discipline. Her teaching mainly focuses on Innovation and Entrepreneurship, Management and Operations and Service Management. She won a teaching award for use of technology in her teaching by the Student’s Association in 2014. Julie is programme leader of the BA Management, Technology & Enterprise programme. She currently supervises a number of PhD students and Professional Doctorate students.
