John Harris is Associate Dean Research in the Glasgow School for Business and Society. Prior to joining GCU in 2011 he was a tenured Associate Professor at Kent State University, USA.

John has an eclectic research profile and works with scholars from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds. He is author of Rugby Union and Globalization (Palgrave Macmillan), co-editor of Football and Migration (Routledge), and his work has been published in a number of journals including National Identities, Management Research Review, International Journal of Tourism Research, International Journal of Sociology and Social Policy, and Geographical Research.

Harris is Leisure & Events Subject Editor for the Journal of Hospitality, Leisure, Sport and Tourism Education (JoHLSTE) and also serves on the editorial boards of the International Journal of Sport Communication and the Journal of Sport & Tourism.
