After completing her MA in the History of Medicine at Newcastle in 2007 Victoria started a Wolfson Research Institute sponsored PhD at Durham University in the History of Medicine entitled “Public Health Issues and General Practice in the Area of Middlesbrough, 1880-1980”. Her subsequent work and interest in health in the North East led to a Research Associate post within the Wellcome funded project “Disability and Industrial Society: A Comparative Cultural History of British Coalfields, c.1780-1948.” from 2011-2015. Victoria is currently working on a new project bid looking at the development of Primary Health Care Centres modelled on the Peckham Experiment from the 1950s onwards.
